Foundations Class: Getting Started

Our class will be utilizing a workbook created by Dann Spader. It would be wise to do a bit of background research on him to credit him, but the clock has already started on the class! Maybe another blog.

Without giving too much of our workbook away in order to avoid copyright infringement, I'll just choose one portion of each daily study to address with my own personal reflection.

1 John 2:6 leads off our study, quickly focusing in on the most important thing. Spader makes it clear that while it's important to learn what Jesus did as he walked the earth, it is all the more important to learn how Jesus lived his life so that we may then follow suit.

As part of the reflection questions, Spader asks "What is your initial impression of what this means to walk as Jesus walked? My written response:

"To take many opportunities daily to be charitable to the less fortunate. It also means holding your brothers accountable, and testifying to God's omnipotence and redemption via Jesus alone."

Day one down! I love a concise, clear plan, which is what Spader has laid out on day one. Was my answer any different from your answer to the above reflection questions? Let me know in the comments below. "What is your initial impression of what it means to walk as Jesus walked?"
