Walking As Jesus Walked, The Foundations Class at The Branch Church.

Ever since Chelsey and I said "I do" on July 4th, 2013, it's been important to me that we get plugged in to a church. Not just by sitting in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings or serving on the praise team (which I have had the pleasure of doing with a few churches), but by being involved in/or leading small groups. The type of friendship that this environment creates is a fantastic way to surround yourself with people you would be happy being the average of ("You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with").

Last January, Chelsey and I were invited to the Christmas service at The Branch in Vista Ridge. Ever since then, we have bought in to this church. When the pastor has the congregation hanging on every word, the singing is loud enough to be heard over the worship team, and people seek YOU out and shake your hand, it's a winning (over) combo.

As part of getting plugged into the Branch, I attended a Men's bible study where the average age was probably close to 15-20 yrs older than me. These men are honest, real, and at the point where they have lived enough life to have their priorities in check. As a young man beginning my career, marriage, and soon a family, they are the perfect people to spend time learning with! It was a great experience, and I look forward to the next session we do.

One of the members of this study, and as I subsequently learned a leader of The Branch, invited Chelsey and I to a class called "Foundations: Learning To Walk As Jesus Walked". As part of this class, I'll have daily readings and study to do, as well as classes every other Sunday. As a way to commit myself to these studies, I will write a blog post about each day of this class.

Subscribe to my mailing list in order to follow along this class with me! Also if you want to read anything health related, fitness related, or Garrett Life related. Let's be honest, if you really only care about how/what my beautiful wife is doing these days (like my entire family nowadays haha), that would be a good reason to subscribe too.

Hope you are all well, let me know in the comments your thoughts!
